Congressman DESTROYS Generals: ‘If We Didn’t Have A President That Was So Addled, You All Would Be Fired!’

(Tea Party 247) – Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz came out hot and heavy on Gen. Mark Milley and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin during a hearing on Joe Biden’s horrific handling of the troop withdrawal from Afghanistan, grilling the two on both sides.

According to BizPacReview, Gates kicked things off with an explosive rip into Milley, saying, “February 26, 2020, House Armed Services Committee, General Mark Milley. ‘We know we’re not going to defeat the Taliban militarily and they’re not going to defeat the government of Afghanistan militarily.’ You really blew that call didn’t you general?”

“You spent more time with Bob Woodward on this book than you spent analyzing the very likely prospect that the Afghanistan government was going to fall immediately to the Taliban, didn’t you?” he hammered the general.

Milley went on to deny the assertion made by Gaetz.

“Oh really? Cause you said right after Kabul fell that no one could have anticipated the immediate fall of the Ghani government. When did you become aware that Joe Biden tried to get Ghani to lie about the conditions in Afghanistan? He did that in July. Did you know about that right away?” he asked the general. Once again, Milley bobbled and then denied.

Gaetz then turned his attention to Austin, asking him if he was capable of assessing if someone possessed the will to fight. Austin responded to the question by answering that he couldn’t. Gaetz then stated that was extremely disappointing in a military sense. He then noted both men’s failures in Afghanistan and Syria, questioning Austin’s leadership.

“It seems like you are chronically bad at this,” Gaetz went on to tell Austin. “When people in the military like Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller stand up and demand accountability… when they say you all screwed up and they point out that General Milley’s statement, ‘The government of Afghanistan is not going to get defeated by the Taliban,’ he ends up in the brig and you all end up in front of us and your former employer Raytheon ends up with a lot of money and we have poured cash and blood and credibility into a Ghani government that was a mirage,” he ranted.

“It fell immediately. While the guy sitting next to you was off talking to Phil Rucker and was off doing his thing with Bob Woodward, we were buying into the big lie… the big lie that this was ever going to be successful and we could ever rely on the Afghanistan government for anything at all,” Gaetz proclaimed. He then said that Milley had undermined the chain of command.

“You said yesterday that you weren’t going to resign when senators asked you this question. I believe that you guys probably won’t resign. You seem to be very happy failing up over there. But if we didn’t have a President that was so addled, you all would be fired. Because that is what you deserve. You’ve let down people who wear the uniform in my district and all around the country, and you are far more interested in what your perception is and how people think about you in insider Washington books than you care about winning,” the congressman said, pointing the finger at Milley.

Gaetz’s time ended up expiring after he really brought the house down by accusing both Milley and Austin of incompetence.

Rep. Chrissy Houlahan, a Democrat from Pittsburgh, kicked off her allotted time by saying, “I apologize for the behavior of my colleague.”

Folks were pretty happy about how Gaetz handled Milley and Austin.

According to another BizPacReview report, Gen. Mark Milley, during his second day of getting grilled on Capitol Hill, seemed to provide some details that confirmed the controversial communication he had with China.

This led to a congresswoman from the GOP to call for him to step down from his position.

“During the open-to-the-public hearing, U.S. Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-Mo.) straight up asked Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, if he told CCP Gen. Li Zuocheng ‘when you talked to him on the phone that if we were going to attack China, that you would let him know ahead of time?'” the report noted.

“After some attempt to repeat a prior scripted explanation, Hartzer then told the general to get to the point and asked a second time, “did you or did you not tell him if we were going to attack you would let him know?”

“As part of that conversation, I said, ‘General Li, there’s not gonna be a war; there’s not gonna be an attack between great powers.’ And if there was, the tensions would build up; there would be calls going back and forth from all kinds of senior officials. I said, ‘Hell, I’ll probably give you a call, but we’re not going to attack you. Trust me, we’re not going to attack you,’” Gen. Milley said in response to Hartzler.

“These are two great powers, and I am doing my best to transmit the president’s intent, President Trump’s intent, to insure that the American people are protected from an incident that could escalate,” he continued.

“I understand your intent, but I think you articulating that, that you would tell him, you would give him a call, I think is worthy of your resignation,” the congresswoman responded. “I just think that’s against our country that you would give our number-one adversary that information and tell him that.”
